The report shows that China's energy consumption structure is constantly improving. In 2021, coal consumption accounted for 56.0% of the total primary energy consumption, oil accounted for 18.5%, natural gas accounted for 8.9%, and hydropower, nuclear power, wind power and other non-fossil energy accounted for 16.6%. Compared with a decade ago, the proportion of coal consumption in energy consumption has decreased by 14.2 percentage points, while the proportion of non-fossil energy such as hydropower, nuclear power and wind power has increased by 8.2 percentage points.
