In early trading, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.84 per cent to 19997.79 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 0.97 per cent to 4261.86 points; power stocks were strong, household appliances stocks rose, real estate and property management stocks rose generally, TCL Electronics rose nearly 12 per cent, China Longyuan Power Group Corporation rose 8 per cent, China Electric Power rose more than 7 per cent, Techtronic Industries rose nearly 6 per cent, Meituan rose nearly 5 per cent, China Shipping Defense rose more than 4 per cent, China Huarong fell nearly 12 per cent, and fourth Ring Road Pharmaceuticals fell more than 8 per cent.
