The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) jointly released the Agriculture Outlook 2022-2031 report on the 29th, pointing out that the global agricultural industry faces fundamental challenges in the next decade. There is a need to sustainably feed a growing population and cope with shocks such as food supply disruptions caused by the impact of the climate crisis. The report pointed out that multiple factors such as the recovery of demand after the epidemic, bad weather in major suppliers, and rising production and transportation costs have pushed up agricultural prices, while the situation has been further exacerbated by rising uncertainty in agricultural exports from Ukraine and Russia, the major grain suppliers.
