Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the eighth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation by video and delivered a keynote speech in Beijing on the evening of November 29th. Xi Jinping announced that in order to achieve the target set by the African Union that 60% of the African population will be vaccinated against COVID-19 in 2022, China will provide another 1 billion doses of the vaccine to the African side, of which 600 million doses will be provided free of charge and 400 million doses will be provided in the form of joint production by Chinese enterprises and relevant African countries. China will also assist African countries in implementing 10 medical and health projects and send 1500 medical personnel and public health experts to Africa.
